| 1881(明治14)年、ドイツ学術の啓蒙団体である獨逸学協会が設立されました。ついで二年後の1883(明治16)年、獨逸学協会学校が創立されました。獨逸学協会による、わが国へのドイツ学術移植事業の一環として、なされたものでした。これが獨協学園の出発点となったのです。以来、こんにちに至るまでの幾星霜、私学の中でも、ドイツ語を中心とするユニークな学校として、有為な人材の養成と文化の発展に寄与してまいりました。 わたしたちは歴史ギャラリーを開設するに当たり、本学園の沿革とその精神をなるべく客観的に、わが国近代史の流れの中に位置づけ、示すことを心がけました。獨協学園の歴史が現代の社会に、どのような意味をもつか、明らかにしたいと考えたからです。 来館された皆さまが本学園の永き伝統とよき校風を感じとられ、これまで以上のご厚誼の念を懐いてくだされば幸いです。 |

| In 1881, the Doitsu-Gaku Kyokai (German Association) was established for the purpose of promoting German studies. Two years later, in 1883, it founded the Doitsu-Gaku Kyokai Gakko (German Association School), the predecessor of Dokkyo Gakuen (Dokkyo Group of Academic Institutions). From the time of its foundation to the present, Dokkyo Gakuen and the schools under its administration have made a significant contribution to the fostering of outstanding human resources and development of culture as unique private educational institutions focusing on the study of the German language. In establishing this Historical Gallery, we have attempted to place the history and spirit of Dokkyo Gakuen in the context of Japan's modern history and to present them as objectively as possible, in order to determine the significance of Dokkyo in the history of education in Japan. We hope that visitors to the Gallery will acquire a deeper understanding and appreciation of the long tradition and academic spirit of Dokkyo Gakuen. |
